Cultivation Method

Mahesh Pomen is among the few farmers in the country who practise natural berry cultivation. He follows a cow-based, chemical-free farming system, focusing on building living, fertile soil through natural inputs rather than external chemicals. Soil nutrition is managed using traditional preparations, while simple, time-tested pest-control methods are employed to maintain ecological balance, allowing the plants to grow resiliently and produce clean, flavour-rich fruits. His blueberries are cultivated inside polyhouse structures, where temperature, humidity, and exposure are carefully managed to create the ideal growing environment for a crop that is otherwise difficult to grow naturally in Indian conditions. With close monitoring and meticulous care at every stage, this approach ensures healthy plants, consistent fruit quality, and berries that retain their natural taste, freshness, and nutritional integrity.
