Cultivation Method

Mahesh Pomen is among the few farmers in the country who practise natural berry cultivation. He follows a cow-based, chemical-free farming. His blueberries are cultivated inside polyhouse structures, where temperature, humidity, and exposure are carefully managed to create the ideal growing environment for a crop that is otherwise difficult to grow naturally in Indian conditions. Physical pheromone traps and farm made inputs such as kashayas and neem oil is used for pest and disease control.
